Merrick is a personal assistant you reach by text message. You text it a request in plain language — look something up, check a real price, set aside a spending limit for one specific purchase — and it replies in the same thread.
Before Merrick does anything that spends money or cannot be undone, it texts you the exact terms and waits. Not a summary of the terms: the real ones, fetched from the real service. If you do not reply, nothing happens.
When you approve a purchase amount, that limit is enforced by the card network rather than by the assistant's good intentions. A card issued for $47.50 declines at $47.51.
We will text you once to confirm. You are not subscribed until you reply to that message, and consent is not a condition of any purchase.
